AT Funding Options for Individuals in NC

NCATP provides information on potential assistive technology funding resources for the individual to pursue.  Contact Annette Lauber, Funding Specialist, or Carol Williams, Consumer Resource Specialist, at 919/850-2787 or through the CARELINE at 1-800-662-7030 for assistance in identifying potential AT funding resources or strategies.

Hear Now Starkey Hearing Foundation 6700 Washington Ave. South Eden Prairie, MN 55344 800-648-4327	Provides hearing aids for individuals with very limited financial resources and limited family support.	US	$100 processing fee for each hearing aid funding application. Fee is non-refundable under any circumstance, income based, and  requires proof of other attempts for funding.

Shriner’s Hospital for Children 800-237-5055	Medical services at their pediatric specialty hospitals for children less than 18 yrs. old	US	Contact the Care Coordinators at Shriner’s for an application and how to obtain sponsorship of local Shrine Temple.
State Employees Association of North Carolina PO Drawer 27727 Raleigh, NC 27611	Scholarships to SEANC members and their families	NC	Scholarships based on financial need or merit; application is on website.
Toyota Mobility Assistance Local Toyota Dealer Toyota Financial Services Customer Service Ctr. 800-874-8822	Provides maximum of $1,000 for installation of adaptive equipment and extended loans for purchase or lease of new Toyota vehicles.	US	Requires credit approval for long term mobility financing for people with disabilities. Cash reimbursement for installation of adaptive equipment.
Travelers Protective Association Trust (TPA) 3755 Lindell Boulevard St. Louis, MO 63108-3476 314- 371-0533	Financial aid to children and adults who are deaf or hearing impaired and scholarships for students who are deaf or hearing impaired. Deadline March 1st of each year; scholarships.	US	Funding for mechanical devices, medical or specialized treatment or specialized education as well as speech classes, note takers, interpreters, etc. directly related to hearing impairment. Applications for aid and scholarships are posted on website.
